Serves: 4

Prep time: 30 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Total time: 50 minutes, including pressing tofu

1 7.5-ounce block extra-firm tofu

2 tablespoons neutral oil

2 tablespoons RawSpiceBar Hawaiian Blend

1 lime, juiced

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 red bell pepper, cut into ½-inch pieces

1 yellow bell pepper, cut into ½-inch pieces

1 large red onion, cut into ¼-inch chunks

Fresh cilantro, chopped

  1. Wrap the tofu in a dish towel, place on a plate, and put something heavy, like a skillet or heavy can, on top. Press the tofu for 30 to 60 minutes to remove excess moisture. Then slice into ½-inch cubes.
  2. If using wooden skewers with an outdoor grill, soak the skewers in water for at least 20 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, Hawaiian Blend, lime juice, honey, and salt.
  4. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Thread the tofu, peppers, and onion onto the skewers, alternating ingredients.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and brush liberally with the sauce. Rotate and brush the other side, then cook for 3-4 minutes per side, 10-15 minutes total. Add more sauce as you turn and cook the skewers.
  6. Garnish with cilantro to serve.
