Tandoori Masala Recipes & Cooking Tips
This tandoori spice blend is primarily used to marinate chicken, meat, seafood or vegetables in a yogurt spice mix, then charred over high heat. It will also help transform simple rice or dal into a beautiful, deeply flavorful dish.
I really live the flavor this give my BBq, its a great change from our normal routine!
American spices available in grocery stores are so bland. I have a hard time finding good Indian spices where I live, so I gave this a try. It is delicious! It is so full of flavor. In recipes that call for garam masala, I sub half of it for the tandoori masala. My family enjoyed it.
Salt (brine) and onion are the only spices able to penetrate into chicken so you still need to use salt in the first marinade. This mix is perfect because i can adjust the amount of salt. The spice mix is close to those used in restaurants but without a real tandoori oven I can’t say it is sn exact match in taste. My home oven isn’t hot enough for the flavors to fully develop. There are flower pot style DIY tandoori ovens (youtube) that look like they could work nicely.
Before purchasing this, the Garam was my favorite seasoning. This came as a surprise in my monthly subscription and now this and the garam are my favorites. It is awesome! Thank you RAWSPICEBAR!
This RawSpiceBar Tandoori Masala spice is wonderful. It has a very aromatic and appealing blend of seasonings. Also, this product is a great price compared to finding it here locally in Alaska.
