Espelette peppers are a sweet-hot chile grown exclusively in and around the French town for which it is named. These peppers have a mild heat and sweetness, with a vibrant color. This is a local variety, grown in California, and so is technically not French Piment d’Espellette. Given the limited availability and high cost of the French variety, we are so excited to find an equally high quality, super fresh espelette pepper to use as our go to paprika. Add to deviled eggs or pair with furikakenori for a delicious popcorn seasoning.
