Serves: 6

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

1⅓ cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons RawSpiceBar Lebküchen Blend

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon kosher salt

¼ cup sugar

1 large egg

¼ cup butter, melted and cooled

1 ½ cups buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, Lebküchen Blend, baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  2. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the egg, butter, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir to combine the wet ingredients, then incorporate them into the dry ingredients. It’s ok if the batter has a few lumps. It will be thick. If you like thinner waffles, add another ¼ - ½ cup buttermilk.
  3. Preheat a waffle iron and grease with nonstick spray. When hot, add the waffle batter and cook until golden on both sides and crisp on the edges.
  4. Serve hot with Royal Rose Barrel Rested Maple Syrup.
