Turkey burgers are a cooking staple and are an awesome substitute for ground beef. They are much leaner than the classic burger, but have a tendency to be more dry. The right turkey burger seasoning makes a total difference.
Remember, healthy food doesn’t need to be bland and flavorless. Using the right spices in your recipes will encourage your family to eat healthier food!
How to Season a Turkey Burger
-
Start with a Flavor in Mind
You can season your turkey burger with anything you want! Make spice mixes or stick with the classics. Our favorite base spices are Cumin, Italian Seasoning, Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Red Pepper Flakes, and Lemon Pepper -- of course, you shouldn’t forget salt and pepper.
-
Season Your Burger
Once you’ve chosen your burger’s flavor profile, it’s time to season the patties. If you’re using Lean Turkey, you should mix the seasoning before forming the patties. If using pre-formed patties, you can just sprinkle the seasoning on top before it’s done grilling.
-
Choose Your Condiments
The classic condiments for burgers are, of course, ketchup and mustard. Level up your turkey burgers by introducing other condiments such as grated onion or mayonnaise. You can even make your own condiments! We recommend spicy sriracha mayo or Asian style ketchup.
