Szechuan beef in a fiery chili-oil sauce with Chinese five spice powder - completely mouthwatering and ready in under 30 minutes.
1 tablespoon RawSpiceBar's Chinese Five Spice Powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon flour
12 ounces boneless short rib
1 ¾ cups peanut oil
1 inch ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 fresh red chilies
2 green scallions, sliced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 cups green beans
1. In a bowl, combine pinch salt, soy sauce, flour and one tablespoon water. Slice beef thinly and add to marinade.
2. In a medium skillet or wok, heat peanut oil to medium heat. Add beef and stir gently, 2-3 minutes, remove and drain.
3. Pour off all but 3 tablespoons of oil. Over high heat, add ginger, garlic, fresh chilies, Chinese Five Spice Powder and stir-fry, 2-3 minutes. Add green beans, beef and stir well, salt to taste and cook until beef is sizzling.
4. Add scallions. Remove from heat and stir in sesame oil. Serve over noodles or brown rice & enjoy!
