A great jerk shrimp recipe starts with a high quality, freshly ground Jamaican jerk seasoning spices. Jerk cooking, which is native to Jamaica, lends a spicy, peppery flavor to seafood, meat and chicken dishes.
2-3 tbsp RawSpiceBar's Jamaican Jerk Seasoning
1 pound large shrimp, cleaned, deveined
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 lemon, juice
1/2 cup shallots, chopped
Kosher salt, to taste
1. In a large bowl, combine shrimp, salt and Jamaican jerk seasoning. Refrigerate and let marinate, 30 minutes or longer.
2. In a large skillet, add coconut oil over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. In same skillet, add more coconut oil and cook shallots over medium high heat, about 3-4 minutes. Add shrimp back to pan, cooking 1-2 minutes. Serve with a spritz of lemon juice and eat in tacos, over rice or alone and enjoy!
