1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
2 cups milk
Pinch Kosher salt, to taste
1/2 cup water
1 large overripe banana (optional)
Toppings of choice: honey, fresh fruit, nuts, fried egg (optional)

1. Combine oats, milk, water, salt, spices and banana (if using) in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
2. Simmer uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
3. Divide equally between two bowls. Drizzle with honey and add additional desired toppings and serve.
